Conservative Management of Female Incontinence
نویسنده
چکیده
New drugs and surgical techniques in the past decade have resulted in their increased role in the management of female incontinence. However, conservative management still remains an important option that is employed either primarily or in conjunction with other treatments. This comprehensive text provides a detailed background and treatment guideline to conservative management of incontinence with particular emphasis on the female population. Each expert author illustrates not only the anatomical and physiological background required to understand the rationale behind each conservative management method but also a detailed picture of various different approaches. Practical step by step procedures make it easy for the reader to follow. Another unique aspect of this book is that it contains a section dedicated to the conservative management of incontinence in children. The common etiology and management of incontinence in children is often different from that of adults and this text manages to elegantly show that difference. Moreover, the general overview and chapters dedicated to detailed treatment methods with potential pitfalls should provide confidence to the reader who is involved with these difficult to treat children. This text should be considered by every urology staff, resident, nurse, and technician involved in the treatment of urinary incontinence.
